Kurt Marsden named division manager of Business Finance; John Leonard to lead Technology Finance

[SANTA MONICA, Calif., January 9, 2012] –Wells Fargo Capital Finance, part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), has announced that Kurt Marsden, formerly the division manager of Technology Finance, will now lead the Business Finance division and will report to Guy Fuchs, head of the Corporate Finance Group. John Leonard will take over as division manager of Technology Finance and will report to Scott Diehl, head of the Industries Group. Marsden has led the Technology Finance team since its inception in 2007, the same year Leonard joined as a founding member in the Boston office.

Marsden, a veteran of the asset-based lending industry for more than 19 years, joined Foothill Capital Corporation in 1992 as part of an analyst training program, and has since held positions in field audit and every aspect of portfolio management. Additionally, he was the first credit manager for the Specialty Finance division and worked for six years as western region credit manager for Business Finance before forming Technology Finance. Marsden has worked with a significant number of software and technology companies from both the public and private sector to provide financing solutions. He holds a bachelor‘s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and real estate from California State University, Northridge.

Leonard joined Foothill Capital Corporation in 1998 as an account analyst, and has held several positions during his tenure including field audit, relationship management, and underwriting. Most recently, Leonard was east coast Managing Director for Technology Finance. With over 13 years of asset-based lending and leveraged finance experience, Leonard brings extensive knowledge in structuring, underwriting and managing senior secured credit facilities with a particular emphasis on software and technology lending to private and public companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance from Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu.
